Parish Outreach
Our baptism makes us sharers in the common priesthood of Christ as Priest, Prophet and King. We follow Jesus’ example by being good stewards. Stewardship is the wise and responsible use of God’s gifts. We are stewards of God’s gifts, not its owners.

We must return to God the time, talents, and treasures He entrusts to us. One day we will all give an accounting of our stewardship.

At St. Bernadette we offer these outreach programs which enable each one of us to share our time and talents with the community. We have the
Funeral/Death,   Eucharistic Adoration   Hospital Visits,   Visit to Homebound/Nursing home Parishioners   Prayer Line   Pro-Life
We encourage parishioners to share their time and talents within the context of mass as liturgical ministries

Death/Funeral

When you experience a death within the family, please contact the Parish Office at (402) 731-4694. Arrangements are made in conjunction with the mortuary of your choice.

Preparations for the funeral liturgy and prayer service at the wake will be made with the presiding minister/priest. An opportunity for a lunch after the funeral and burial is available in the Social Hall/Cafeteria. The family is asked to provide some of the food, with parishioners providing desserts, drinks, and serving. Please contact the Parish Office at (402) 731-4694.

Eucharistic Adoration

Many parishioners of St. Bernadette spend an hour every week before the Eucharistic Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Praying is the most important ministry of any parish. People who pray are like the heart of the human body.

Come and join us to spend an hour with God. We all need time to rest and reflect in this busy world.
If interested to take up the challenge, please contact Father Joseph at (402) 731-4694 to arrange an hour, and for instructions for access to the building during the evening and night hours.

Please feel welcome to spend an hour with our Lord on your own as you are able.

Hospital Visits

Priests regularly visit parishioners who spend time in city hospitals. Some hospitals inform the parish of admissions, but often this is not accomplished.

We encourage family members or friends to inform us of hospital admissions.

We pray for those who are in the hospitals during our weekly week-end masses.

Homebound/Nursing homes Parishioners

The priests visit those who are homebound and in nursing homes on a monthly basis. Those wishing such visits are asked to contact the Parish Office.

This ministry is also coordinated so that more regular visits to the homebound might be made by our Eucharistic Ministers.

If you or someone you know wish to receive the Eucharist every Sunday, please call the parish office.
