| Marriage |
|
Archdiocesan norms require a minimum of six months of preparation. It is suggested that couples contact the Parish Office (731-4694) as soon as a planned date is set to begin the process. There are real advantages to a preparation process over a period of time. The preparation includes an initial meeting in the parish, an Archdiocesan Pre-Session at which the FOCCUS instrument is taken. The individual sessions will focus on the faith as well as human development and the qualities requred for a successful married life. In addition, it is encouraged that there be participation in one of the other Archdiocesan programs that are available, such as Engaged Encounter and Natural Family Planning.
If one of the spouses will be 19 or younger at the time of the wedding, please contact the parish as soon as possible. You will need special classes and you cannot decide on the date of your wedding unless you have received an approval from your counselor. |

Reconciliation is scheduled on a regular basis for children in the five day school and those attending Religious Education (CCD). Reconciliation is offered weekly in the parish. In this sacrament we meet Christ the healer of our souls. It is a good practice to receive this sacrament at least once a month. Our pope, John Paul II, receives this sacrament every week. | Eucharist |
|
First celebration of this sacrament takes place when children are in the second grade. Eucharist (First Communion) takes place in the spring. The preparation process includes sessions with parents.
The Eucharist is the center of our faith. Every Sunday, we gather as a church to celebrate the paschal mystery - the passion, death, resurrection and ascension of Christ.
